Bloem: enkel; middelgrote, zalm oranje, hangende bloem; Bloembuis: hoekig, glimmend; afm. 25 x 8 mm; kleur: zalm (52C); op 1/3 van de buis zit een dikke honingklier, waardoor de buis daar ter plekke verdikt is. Kelkbladen: groene toppen; buitenkant: zalm (52D); binnenkant: zalm (52D); afm. 28 x 7 mm. Kroonbladen: hartvormig, kwart uitstaand. Afm. 18 x 20 mm; kleur: oranje (43C). Helmdraad: oranje, 1 mm onder kroonblad uit. Helmknop: wit. Stijl: roze, 10 mm onder kroonblad. Stempel: geel, gelobd. Bloei: normaal. Bloeitijd: normaal. Knop: langwerpig. Blad: eivormig; spitse punt en afgeronde voet; gegolfde bladrand; afm. 95 x 55 mm.; kleur: groen bovenkant (137B) onderkant (138B); stengel en nerven lichtrood. Groeiwijze: rechtopgaand, harde groeier. Kweekwijze:struik/stam voor plaats in helder licht of zon. Bijzonderheden: de hartvorm van de kroonbladen is zeer goed te zien (vallen mooi naast elkaar). De diepte van de kroonkleur is sterk afhankelijk van de hoeveelheid licht.
AFS description:   ‘Herps Schalmei’- No 6583 (Waldenmaier) Single. Upright. COROLLA: Unflared, wavy, turned under petal margins; opens dark rose (55A); matures rose (52C); 16mm (5/8") long x 13mm (1/2") wide. SEPALS: half down, tips reflexed; rose (55B) & light apple green (145C) tipped yellowish green (144B) upper surface; pink (54D) & pale yellow green (150D) tipped yellowish green (144B) lower surface; 22mm (7/8") long x 6mm (1/4") wide. TUBE: rose (55B); long & thin; 24mm (15/16") long x 5mm (3/16") wide. STAMENS do not extend beyond the corolla; pink (54D) filaments; light yellow (1C) anthers. PISTIL extends 3mm (1/8") beyond the corolla; pink (55C) style; pale yellow (2D) stigma. BUD is elongated. FOLIAGE is dark green (136A) upper surface; medium green (138A) lower surface. Leaves are 83mm (3 5/16") long x 48mm (1 7/8") wide; ovate shaped, serrulate edges, acute tips, rounded bases. Veins are light olive green (148B), stems are light olive green (148B) & light red purple (185D), branches are light green (139D) & light red purple (185D). PARENTAGE: [('F. magdalenae' x 'F. fulgens grandiflora') x tetraploid 'F. fulgens gesneriana'] x 'WALZ Floreat'. Small upright. Self branching. Makes good upright. Prefers overhead filtered light, cool climate. Best bloom & foliage color in filtered light. Tested 3 years in Herpen, The Netherlands. Meise 9/16/06.
