AFS description: ‘Herps Vuurbol’ – No 8457 (Waldenmaier 2014) Single. Upright. COROLLA: quarter flared; smooth petal margins, round shape; opens & matures orange (33B); 11mm (7/16") long x 11mm (7/16") wide. SEPALS are half down, tips reflexed; pink (37C) upper surface; orange (33C) lower surface; 22mm (7/8") long x 10mm (3/8") wide. TUBE is peach (37B); medium length & thickness; 24mm (15/16”) long x 8mm (5/16”) wide. STAMENS extend 3mm (1/8”) beyond the corolla; peach (33D) filaments; light yellowish orange (19C) anthers. PISTIL extends 15mm (9/16”) beyond the corolla; light pink (36C) style; light yellow (3C) stigma. BUD is acorn shape. FOLIAGE is dark green (137A) upper surface; medium green (138A) lower surface. Leaves are 95mm (3 3/4”) long x 60mm (2 3/8”) wide, ovate shaped, serrate edges, acute tips, rounded bases. Veins, stems & branches are green. PARENTAGE: [(tetraploid) F. splendens x (tetraploid) F. fulgens Gesneriana] x ‘Lord Lonsdale’. Medium upright. Makes good upright. Prefers overhead filtered light.
