8436 (Waldenmaier 2014) Single. Upright. COROLLA:
quarter flared; smooth petal margins, round shape; opens &
matures violet (75A); 14mm (9/16") long x 14mm (9/16") wide. SEPALS
are horizontal, tips recurved; light yellowish green (149C) upper &
lower surfaces; 25mm (1") long x 8mm (5/16") wide. TUBE is dark rose
(51A); short, medium thickness; 11mm (7/16”) long x 7mm (1/4”) wide.
STAMENS extend 10mm (3/8”) beyond the corolla; light pink (62C)
filaments; light yellowish orange (19C) anthers. PISTIL extends 25mm
(1”) beyond the corolla; pale pink (62D) style; light yellowish
orange (19B) stigma. BUD is globular. FOLIAGE is dark green (137A)
upper surface; medium green (138A) lower surface. Leaves are 55mm (2
3/16”) long x 35mm (1 3/8”) wide, ovate shaped, serrate edges, acute
tips, rounded bases. Veins, stems & branches are green. PARENTAGE:
[(tetraploid) F. splendens x (tetraploid) F. fulgens
Gesneriana] x ‘Torville and Dean’. Small upright. Makes good
upright. Prefers overhead filtered light. Best bloom & foliage color
in bright light. Tested 3 years in Herpen, The Netherlands. Fuchsia
Nieuwigheden Certificering. Distinguished by flower color. |
