COROLLA: quarter flared, turned under wavy petal margins; opens rose
(54C); matures magenta (61C); 4mm (3/16”) long, 6mm (1/4”) wide.
SEPALS: half down; tips reflexed; rose (47C) & greenish white (157B)
upper surface; light green (143D) lower surface; 11mm (7/16”) long x
5mm (3/16”) wide. TUBE: rose (47C); long, thick; 33mm (1 1/4”) long
x 7mm (1/4”) wide. STAMENS: do not extend below corolla; pale pink
(49D) filaments; pale yellow (1D) anthers. PISTIL: does not extend below
the corolla; light pink (49C) style; greenish yellow (1B) stigma. BUD:
elongated. FOLIAGE: dark green (133A) upper surface; medium green (138A)
lower surface. Leaves are 97mm (3 13/16”) long x 69mm (2 3/4”) wide,
ovate shaped, wavy edges, acute tips and obtuse bases. Light green
(138C) veins; light green/grayish rose (181D) stems; medium green/
grayish red (138B/181C) branches. PARENTAGE: (‘F. magdalenae’
x ‘F. fulgens grandiflora’) x ‘F. fulgens gesneriana’,
tetraploid. Medium upright. Makes good upright. Prefers overhead
filtered light or full sun. Cold weather hardy. Best bloom and foliage
color in filtered light. Tested 3 years in Herpen, The Netherlands.
