AFS description:
‘Herps Lyra’ – No 8800 (Waldenmaier
2018) Single. Upright/trailer.
COROLLA: full flare, round shape, smooth petal margins; opens dark
reddish purple (59A); matures reddish purple (59B); 10mm (3/8") long
x 10mm (3/8") wide. SEPALS are half down, tips reflexed; magenta
(59C), large green tip, upper surface; dark reddish purple (59A),
large green tip, lower surface; 10mm (3/8") long x 6mm (1/4”) wide.
TUBE is grayish orange (179C); long, medium thickness; 30mm (1
3/16") long x 7mm (1/4") wide. STAMENS extend 5mm (3/16”) beyond the
corolla; magenta (59C) filaments; light reddish purple (73A)
anthers. PISTIL extends 10mm (3/8”) beyond the corolla; reddish
purple (58A) style; light yellow (4B) stigma. BUD is globular.
FOLIAGE is dark green (137A) upper surface; medium green (138C)
lower surface. Leaves are 75mm (3") long x 30mm (1 3/16") wide,
elliptic shaped, smooth edges, acute tips, acute bases. Veins, stems
& branches are green. PARENTAGE: (F. magdalenae x F.
fulgens grandiflora) x tetraploid F. excorticata. Lax
upright or stiff trailer. Makes good upright. Prefers overhead
filtered light. Best bloom & foliage color in bright light. Tested 6
years in Herpen, The Netherlands.
