8451 (Waldenmaier 2014) Single. Upright. COROLLA:
quarter flared; smooth petal margins, round shape; opens &
matures red (43A); 20mm (3/4") long x 17mm (5/8") wide. SEPALS are
half down, tips reflexed; reddish orange (43C) upper surface;
reddish orange (43C) tipped dark red (53C) lower surface; 24mm
(15/16") long x 9mm (5/16") wide. TUBE is reddish orange (43C);
long, medium thickness; 65mm (2 9/16”) long x 7mm (1/4”) wide.
STAMENS do not extend beyond the corolla; light pink (36C)
filaments; light yellowish orange (19B) anthers. PISTIL extends 5mm
(3/16”) beyond the corolla; light pink (49B) style; yellow (10C)
stigma. BUD is globular. FOLIAGE is dark green (137A) upper surface;
medium green (138A) lower surface. Leaves are 95mm (3 3/4”) long x
60mm (2 3/8”) wide, ovate shaped, serrate edges, acute tips, rounded
bases. Veins & branches are green, stems are green red. PARENTAGE:
[(tetraploid) F. splendens x (tetraploid) F. fulgens
Gesneriana] x ‘Marcus Graham’. Tall upright. Makes good upright.
Prefers overhead filtered light. Best bloom & foliage color in
bright light. Tested 4 years in Herpen, The Netherlands. Fuchsia
