Surdo’ – No 8892 (Waldenmaier 2019) Single. Upright/Trailer. COROLLA: quarter flare; round shape,
smooth petal margins; opens dark purple red (59B); matures dark pink
red (53C); 15mm (9/16") long x 20mm (3/4") wide. SEPALS are half up,
tips recurved up; red (47B) upper surface; red (45B) lower surface;
25mm (1") long x 10mm (3/8”) wide. TUBE is purple red (58B); long &
thick; 35mm (1 3/8") long x 9mm (3/8") wide. STAMENS: extend 2mm
(1/16”) beyond the corolla; purple red (54B) filament; purple red
(54C) anther; PISTIL does not extend beyond corolla; purple red
(54A) style; purple red (55B) stigma; BUD is oblong. FOLIAGE: dark
green (137A) upper surface; brown green (138A) lower surface. Leaf
dimensions: 70mm (2 3/4”) long x 40mm (1 9/16”) wide. Veins, stems &
branches are red. Leaves are cordate shaped, serrate edges (coarsely
toothed), acute tips & rounded bases. PARENTAGE: ‘WALZ Harp’ x ‘Pink
Cornet’ x self (tetraploid) after colchicine/oryzaline treatment.
GROWTH: Lax upright or stiff trailer; makes good basket or upright.
Prefers overhead filtered light. Best bloom & foliage color in
bright light. Tested for three years in the vicinity of Herpen, The
Netherlands. Fuchsia Nieuwigheden Certificering. Distinguished by
