quarter flared; smooth petal margins, round shape; opens &
matures light reddish purple (73A), reddish orange (43C) base; 24mm
(15/16") long x 28mm (1 1/8") wide. PETALOIDS: light reddish purple
(73A), reddish orange (43C) base; 10mm (3/8”) long x 8mm (5/16”)
wide. SEPALS are horizontal, tips recurved; pink (62B) upper
surface; light pink (62C) lower surface; 30mm (1 3/16") long x 12mm
(7/16") wide. TUBE is pale lavender (65D); medium length, thick;
17mm (5/8”) long x 9mm (5/16”) wide. STAMENS extend 5mm (3/16”)
beyond the corolla; light pink (49B) filaments; light pink (36C)
anthers. PISTIL extends 15mm (9/16”) beyond the corolla; light pink
(49B) style; light yellow (5C) stigma. BUD is bulbous. FOLIAGE is
dark green (137A) upper surface; medium green (138A) lower surface.
Leaves are 85mm (3 3/8”) long x 50mm (2”) wide, ovate shaped,
serrate edges, acute tips, rounded bases. Veins, stems & branches
are green. PARENTAGE: [(tetraploid) F. splendens x (tetraploid)
F. fulgens Gesneriana] x ‘Torville and Dean’. Medium upright.
Makes good upright. Prefers overhead filtered light. Best bloom &
foliage color in bright light. Tested 3 years in Herpen, The
Netherlands. Fuchsia Nieuwigheden Certificering. Distinguished by
